Is resistance to reading among young people a myth or a reality?

Dear talkers, is resistance to reading among young people a myth or a reality? Can reading ever be replaced by some other medium? Why is it important and how does one enter the world of reading at all? Is there a division into good and bad literature, and are there stories behind it all?

After the play ‘Talker‘, students from the Grammar School of Karlovci and their literature professor Maja Stokin tried to find answers to these questions during the discussion with actor Nebojša Cile Ilić and director Vladimir Aleksić. ‘Talkers’ visited Svilara Cultural Station last week in order to present classical literature works to children in a different, interactive dramatisation of famous texts.

The enthusiasm of the audience of all ages is the proof that a good way for presenting classics, while we hope that the project will stimulate the imagination of other high school students – fans of reading and inspire the emergence of new ideas about similar projects dedicated to reading books and telling stories.
