The ‘Interracotta’ exhibition will be opened in the Svilara Cultural Station on 23 December at 2 p.m., and it will last until Friday, 25 December. The audience will have a chance to see it in the period from 10 a.m. Until 5 p.m.
Sculptures and installations presented within the ‘Interracotta’ exhibition are the so-called representation of activities related to terracotta sculpture, implemented at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in cooperation with the ‘Terra’ Centre for Fine and Applied Arts from Kikinda.
The exhibition will include works by students made within undergraduate, master and specialist studies of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, as well as by professors and students from the art academies in Pécs and Osijek, which participated in the International Seminar on Terracotta Sculpture.
These works show the different approaches to working with terracotta material, from figuration to abstract forms of a sculpture and installations, compared to tasks and interest of students in undergraduate, master and specialist studies. The presented works depict the different ways in which it is possible to treat the material, and show that terracotta, as a traditional sculpting material, has its place in the contemporary artistic practise.
