Notre Dame – Urban Landscape

The ‘Notre Dame – Urban Landscape’ exhibition by Milivoj Ljubinković will be opened in the Svilara Cultural Station on 15 April at 6 p.m. on the second anniversary of the huge fire that caught the Paris Cathedral.

Due to great interest, the exhibition is extended to 19 May, while the audience will have a chance to check out the works every workday, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Milivoj Ljubinković, the author of the exhibition, and Vladimir Marinković, the head of the Novi Sad branch of the French Institute in Serbia, will speak at the opening.

The ‘Notre Dame – Urban Landscape’ exhibition is the result of eight years of research of the Notre Dame Cathedral and its surroundings. Why Notre Dame? When Milivoj Ljubinković saw Notre Dame for the first time 45 years ago, he was fascinated by its appearance.

After everything that happened to Notre Dame, I need to give it a chance to heal itself in this way. The exhibition is designed on three walls, two side walls with larger formats and a central one, with smaller formats, which would suggest the verticality of the cathedral,’ explains Ljubinković. You can read the interview with him here.

The ‘Notre Dame – Urban Landscape’ exhibition will be implemented in the organization of the ‘Novi Sad 2022 – European Capital of Culture’ project and the Novi Sad branch of the French Institute in Serbia, which is celebrating its 70th birthday this year. Photographs and short films about the works on the reconstruction of the cathedral will be shown as an accompanying programme of the exhibition, which for this occasion is provided by the Public Company for the Restoration and Reconstruction of the Cathedral of Notre Dame from Paris.
