Svilara Cultural Station hosted Petar Popović and Aleksandar Đermanović, expert associates from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad last weekend. The audience had the opportunity to hear compositions by J. G. Mutel, H. Holliger, Z. Karg-Elert, B. Ferneyhough and F. Kuhlau at the ‘Flute & Piano’ recital.
Petar Popović is an expert associate at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and a solo flautist of the RTS Symphony Orchestra. He graduated from the ‘Isidor Bajić’ high music school in the class of Aleksandra Horvat. He completed the basic academic studies at the Academy of Arts under the mentorship of Laura Levai Aksin, MA, within three school years.
He continued the education in Germany, at the High School of Music in Mainz, where he completed a two-year master’s degree in the class of prof. Dejan Gavrić, and afterwards the third degree studies in the same class, with the highest honours. At the same time, he completed his master’s studies at the High School of Music in Lucerne, Switzerland, in the class of prof. Pirmin Grehl. He is currently a doctoral student in the class of prof. Laura Levai Aksin at AANS.
Aleksandar Đermanović is a pianist who is currently doing a PhD at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad under the mentorship of Dorian Leljak, PhD. He previously completed specialist studies in Salzburg at the Mozarteum, as well as a master’s degree and a prestigious artist’s degree from the Royal College of Music in London.
After graduating, he was an assistant professor at the Royal College when he was awarded the Anthony Saltmarsh Collaborative Piano Fellowship and was selected as Park Lane Artist for 2016/17 with violinist Junsli Park. In Serbia, he completed his undergraduate and master studies in the class of Professor Dorian Leljak, PhD, at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, where he currently works as a senior associate, and the ‘Isidor Bajić’ music school in the class of Professor Tatjana Vukmanović. He started playing piano at the age of 11.
