The ‘ModerNS Pop-Up’ workshops were held in Svilara Cultural Station on 24 and 25 Febrauary as part of the Decoding Interwar Modernism of Novi Sad project.

The workshops, which were attended by students of the Department of Architecture and Urbanism of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, opened the question of whether interwar modernism in Novi Sad has a European character.

Within the workshops, the students tried to find an answer by summarizing the results of their previous researches through four thematic frameworks: culture, politics, economy and entertainment.

The workshops were led by Professor Anica Draganić, PhD, project manager, together with colleagues engaged in the module, Dragan Konstantinović, PhD, Mária Szilágyi, PhD, Dušan Ristić, PhD and Miroslav Vujičić, PhD.

The project was implemented within the Jean Monnet Module Strengthening European cultural identity through interdisciplinary heritage studies – CULTher, which is carried out by the University of Novi Sad.

The results of the workshop will be presented in the Svilara Cultural Station on 1 March.
