The Svilara Cultural Station was the place of a performance by the ‘CelloNS’ cellist ensemble from Novi Sad, which on that occasion paid tribute to the recently deceased Ennio Morricone, a genius whose scores influenced both music and film world.
’Our intention was to do it on his birthday, the first one we welcome without the man who indebted the world with the most beautiful film music. We were all very saddened by the news of his death. We are eternally grateful to him for the precious musical gifts he left behind. Maybe today you can find a man who has not heard of the famous composer, but there is hardly anyone who has not at least whistle one of the melodies from so many award-winning films, which provided Ennio with eternity’, explains Marko Miletić, artistic director of the ’CelloNS’.
Miletić, together with his students, who have been awarded many times in the country and abroad – Irena Josifoska, Kristina Zima, Maša Dragaš, Aleksa Penić, Ana Zelić and colleagues from the ‘Camerata Academica’ orchestra – Kristof Jan and Kristina Tokodi, performed the famous music from the ‘Cinema Paradiso’ film, arranged for eight cellos.
