‘Philosophers Sculpt’ Exhibition Opening

The ‘Philosophers Sculpt’ exhibition was opened in the Svilara Cultural Station on Tuesday, 2 February. You can see a total of 30 sculptures by students of philosophy until 10 February, every working day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The project of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, funded by the Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research, lasted for nine weeks.

During the first week, the students sculpted a shallow relief in negative, with a topic of still-life, and made a print in plaster. The second week they made a portrait by the model, the third cast in plaster of that portrait, the fourth and fifth weeks they made a figure according to the model in clay suitable for baking (terracotta). For the next two weekends, they carved a portrait in a plaster wall, while in the eighth and ninth week they made copies according to a chosen reproduction of famous Novi Sad sculptors.
