‘From Two Perspectives’, in Their Honour, Never to Be Forgotten

The exhibition ‘From Two Perspectives’, organised by the ‘Naiva Art Kult’ association of citizens, will be opened in the Svilara Cultural Station on 19 October at 6 p.m. The exhibition is dedicated to Martin Jonáš, the greatest and most esteemed naïve artist, and Zuzana Chalupová, the most famous woman who worked in the field of naïve art in the world and the UNICEF ambassador.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the death of Zuzana Chalupová, i.e., 25 years since the death of Martin Jonáš. Therefore, the exhibition will show representative works by the two most famous painters of the Kovačica school of naïve art, that were not presented to the wider audience, since they come from private collections and collections compiled by collectors and institutions. All interested visitors will have a chance to see the works in the Svilara Cultural Station until 19 October, every workday and at weekends, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

During the closing of the exhibition, the promotion of the book ‘In Their Honour, Never to Be Forgotten’ will be held on 19 November at 6 p.m.

The project has been supported by the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad from Bratislava and the Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities – National Communities from Novi Sad.

The ‘Naiva Art Kult’ association of citizens is located in Kovačica, the world-famous metropolis of naïve art and art in general. The association was founded in 2014, with the aim to preserve, present and promote naïve art in general.
